S.T.E.M. Overview

The acronym S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The S.T.E.M. fields are the academic and professional disciplines that fall under the umbrella areas represented by the acronym. We encourage students to hone in on S.T.E.M. fields as they are an integral part of game development. In fact, you can't make a game without S.T.E.M.

The White House asked, we answered the call. With Change the Equation (CTEq), President Obama challenged corporations to help put the U.S. back on top in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) education. Our studio accepted the challenge and submitted a video on behalf of the Activision|Blizzard family!

The goal of the video was to highlight the use of S.T.E.M. skills as it relates to your job. We accomplished this by combining education and fun. In our case, many folks are already familiar with our games. Therefore, the video was a great way to make some of our biggest fans aware that our business is a rigorous technical field, not just playing video games. It was amazing to see all the different videos from the various companies that participated. It really shows that S.T.E.M. is alive in so many industries.
