Vicarious Visions®, Inc. Announces Completion of Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater® 4 For Wireless Phones

Complements simultaneous development of Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater 4 for PlayStation® Game Console and Game Boy® Advance

For Immediate Release: November 25, 2002

Troy, New York – Vicarious Visions, Inc. today announced the completion of its first handheld game for wireless phones, Activision, Inc.’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater® 4, for wireless. Vicarious Visions was selected by JAMDAT Mobile Inc. to develop the wireless version of the game. Vicarious Visions also developed the award-winning Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series for Game Boy® Advance and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 for the PlayStation® game console.

The unique design of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 for wireless allows beginners and gaming aficionados to pick up the game and play immediately. The game features six different levels and 14 skaters across three game packs -- Euro Tour, West Coast and Road Trip -- that provide a rich game experience. Each of the skaters can perform 10 different skating tricks plus one special individual move to gain points. When players achieve scoring objectives, the player can unlock new tricks or features. Additionally, a new game mode challenges the player to complete specific tricks in sequence before a preset time limit expires.

“Building on our other Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles, we were thrilled to work with Activision and JAMDAT Mobile, the co-publishers of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 for wireless, to bring this important franchise to mobile phones”, said Karthik Bala, CEO of Vicarious Visions. “The impressive graphics, design and gameplay for wireless brings a new style of entertainment to wireless gaming customers. As reflected by our membership in the Khronos Group standards body for mobile graphics APIs, we are committed to advancing the quality of wireless entertainment.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Vicarious Visions to bring this game to wireless phones”, said Scott Lahman, President of Publishing, JAMDAT Mobile. “Vicarious Visions’ experience with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise was critical to our decision to team with them to bring Activision’s blockbuster brand to wireless. They used their creativity and knowledge of the franchise’s signature gameplay and features to develop a game that delivers a great mobile entertainment experience.”
